This course will review the current practice and recommendations for pediatric minimal and moderate sedation. Understanding your patient and their family is key as is utilizing both pharmacologic and non pharmacologic therapies for successful sedations. We will begin with a basis in psychology, physiology and pharmacology and progress through monitoring, drug selection and office protocols. Despite best practice, sedation and medical emergencies can and will happen. A review of identification and immediate intervention will round out the course.
